    RenderDog Client :: Configuration:

    RenderDog Applications:

    There are two executables that comprise the RenderDog render node application. Rdog.exe is the actual command processing client. This executable will be launched once for each processor on the render node and labeled A and B. The RenderDog Process Controller or RDC (rdc.exe) is used to automatically launch and remove the rdog.exe processes. To have the render node come online each time the machine restarts, create an auto-login script to login with a user that has the appropriate network privileges and necessary environment variables. Now include a shortcut to rdc.exe in the startup group. The RDC will startup and by default launch the appropriate number of rdog.exe executables as a hidden process.

    Initialization File:

    All of the RenderDog configuration information is stored in the rdog.ini file in the same folder as the rdog.exe. This file will be automatically created after launching RenderDog or the RPC for the first time. The only user editable line in the ini file is the "#Server and Port Data".

    Server and Port Settings :

    By default the server uses port 8888. If you need to change this you can do so by shutting down the RPC, then editing the "#Server and Port Data" line in the rdog.ini file.
